While these days kids want some iPad time, parents need to know that their online time is well spent. By making a research, we searched 25 educational websites for kids offering different content (such as science, languages, coding, nature) and we found the gap of no website exclusively for cultural heritage. We decided to design "The Cultural Heritage Bus", a system where kids have the opportunity to choose between countries, visit the cultural heritage highlights and learn about buildings, monuments, books, art, music, landscapes and more. The content is exclusively selected by Europeana's Collections while platform's unique design and interactive content increases kids engagement. The web app helps kids (8-16 years old) to learn, please their parents and teachers, but it also refers to adults culture lovers, who just spend time online and they also want to learn something.
"The Cultural Heritage Bus" is designed in 2018 under the invitation of Europeana #edTech Challenge. The purpose of the submission is to use cultural heritage and digital technologies to foster innovative learning and teaching.
